Get Backlinks - Why Backlinks Are an Integral Part of SEO

If you've been around the search engine optimization (SEO) or website building aspect of the internet long enough, you would have noticed that building a site alone and simply submitting it to the major search engines is no longer enough to get people visiting your site. This is by far the most important factor to getting your websites ranked high on all the major search engines, especially Google. Off-page SEO requires you to get backlinks (as many as you want) to your website. Some backlinks are considered more important than others. To understand why this is so, imagine getting references from two or more different people. One of them is the president of the United States while the other is a bank teller. When you present the references to someone, who do you think will be taken more seriously? Well, it's the president of course!

This is what all the major search engines base their rankings on. So to rank high in record time, you should be aiming to get backlinks that are considered much more relevant than others. For example, backlinks coming from websites with.govt and.edu extensions are considered more relevant than those from anywhere else. Also, backlinks coming with websites with higher page ranks are much more relevant than those with lowers ones.
