Building backlinks is of utmost importance in Search Engine Optimization (SEO). One-way links are incoming links to a certain page. To put it simply, they are links back to your page published on a different page. Search engines decide on your blog/website rankings by calculating how many backlinks you have. When countless websites link to a certain site, that's a proof that the site provides priceless content. Thus, its ranking must be high to make sure plenty of people find it.
When we check websites that build links like Google Annihilator, Neurolinkers, Way Links and LinkVana, we discover that all of them mention an interesting point. For example, Google annihilator service states: "Google Annihilation is a brand new web-based software that automatically builds 3 way links to your websites. Your websites won't get banned and will get top ranking in weeks."
Why would an online site get banned for generating backlinks? As soon as you generate many back-links in a short period of time, your blog or website will get banned by search engines. They do that to control the use of Black-Hat SEO techniques (unacceptable tactics).
So the number of links can actually harm your blog or website. It is true that the more links you have, the better. But it is dangerous when the quantity of incoming links becomes very high in few days. You've just started out and your website has generated 10.000 backlinks. Well, how come?! A lot of people tend to make the mistake of buying links. "Get 1000 links for $9.99!" Stay away from such things. They are only good at bringing trouble to your site.
To the best of my knowledge, one should really be careful not to over-egg the pudding when it comes to backlinks quantity.
Regarding the quality of backlinks, there isn't anything to feel uneasy about. In my opinion, there are four types of quality backlinks. First, backlinks coming from Internet websites that have high authority on search engines. Second, links coming from sites that have backlinks from other authority sites. Third, backlinks from sites that have never linked to you in the past. Fourth, links from relevant authority sites.
One authority link that comes from top-rated WebPages is really better than 10 links from 50 Net sites with no authority. If you rely on the value of the links, you will certainly achieve high rankings. However if you simply rely on the number of the backlinks without caring about quality, your internet site is at stake. Simply because there are few limitations on the amount of links you could have every month. In case you surpass the limitations, search engines will find out and ban the site.
I am not saying there are limitations for all websites. I am mainly talking about new websites. I am going to give you an example from Google Ad Words. Some people before wanted to cheat advertising networks by visiting their own websites from different computers with different IPs and then clicking on ads in order to earn a lot of money. They didn't succeed at cheating them because these networks already estimated clients' earnings by calculating traffic, bounce rate, etc. So if the website gets 200 visitors per day and 197 of them click ads, that sounds fake.
It is the same with Backlinks. If you have 200 visitors every month but you have 9.657 backlinks, that sounds unnatural. Your website is likely to be banned in this case.
If you use one of the above mentioned services (which is something I don't recommend at all), you will see that a few of them (like Google Annihilator) build back-links on websites which have absolutely nothing to do with your niche. This is because they are aware that all links help. Even if backlinks are on unrelated-to-your-niche websites, they still help your rankings. But quality links are the most useful.
When selecting your SEO backlinks building tactics, it is of great importance to grant link quality a higher role in your strategy. Link quantity puts your site/blog and your hard work in jeopardy if you are not careful enough. This doesn't mean you need to forget about quantity and take away it from your approach. It can also help provided that you are aware of the risks.
